Description

Every imager has taken a photo of the Veil, the Great Cygnus Loop. Or a part of it. Or at least planned to.
Looks it's almost impossible to bring something unusual with such an image. But give me a try

I have taken the first frames of this field during my Crete vacation in 2018. After having reviewed the first result I was fascinated by the idea of bringing visible the surrounding dark nebulosity.
Unfortunately I had to discard about 30 percent of additional integration because of framing mistake.
And I've thrown away all the dual-band data taken with Canon 60Da in 2018. It would only have added a few percent of total SNR, but a lot of gradients issues instead. I left some Canon RGB data though, as a memory of those wonderful days in Crete.

Please check the bicolor revision also to see the traditional bicolor narrowband look of this object.
